The 5 Love Languages and why it is important to know them

I once got into an argument with one of my friends because I was trying to make her a personalized gift for Christmas and she was doing everything in her power to ruin it. Never have I been so frustrated about something I was equally confused about. Imagine how puzzled I got when my friend ended up being frustrated too, after I told her what I had been trying to do (which she had figured out anyway). This incident happened a few months after I had been introduced to “the 5 love languages” for the first time. This incident was my first practical example of love languages after my awareness of them and I sure did learn a valuable lesson: if you say you love and truly care about someone, learn about their love languages. There is a reason why you are where you are in your life at the present moment. That reason is as valid as your past and everything you are yet to experience. No situation in your life is ever accidental; I strongly believe so. The beast you are being shaped into is worth every smile and every tear you shed along the way. The path you are on is the right one for your soul growth, no matter how it may look like. Practicing this belief not only helps focusing on the (b)right side of any situation, but it also gives you purpose and gives your battles a meaning, rightfully so. “La vie n’est pas un long fleuve tranquille” ( literal translation: Life is not a long quiet river. This month, I am introducing you to young artists who are currently dedicating their art to their own healing journeys. Please leave me a message below this post if you are one of those and would like to be featured here. Jimmy Masonga is a young man of 25 years old, who expresses himself through his drawings. He is currently working on a project which is an ode to his late grandfather. Through a series called “The imaginarium Of Jimmy Masonga” he is recognizing his late grandfather’s legacy of resilience and mostly love, to his family. The kind of love that heals generational trauma. Jimmy was immensely touched and inspired by his grandfather’s devotion to heal is lineage, especially during his last days. He did this through love and love expressed through art, to be more precise. Here is the first of a series of 5 drawings.
